Sunrise Desert Safari Dubai

During my visit to the Middle East, the number one item I had jotted down in my to-do list was the sunrise dessert safari in Dubai deserts. I wanted to go through the experience as I was dreaming about racing down the gigantic sand dunes and riding a camel right from the day we decided to go on a holiday to the most modern emirate in the UAE. I realized after doing a little bit of research that Desert Safari Tours is the right tour provider for me and I decided to go ahead and complete the booking online.

As we were looking to explore the deserts a little bit without getting burned, I decided that the Sunrise Desert Safari Dubai would be the right option for us. So, when I found out that Desert Safari Tours offers early morning safari, I knew that my dream of experiencing the Dubai deserts would definitely fructify. The sunrise desert safari treats visitors with one-hour long sunrise camel trek, dune bashing, breakfast at the Bedouin-style camp, sunrise, 45 minutes of a ride in an All-Terrain Vehicle, sand-boarding, and lifestyle experience.

The safari begins…

We were picked up in a 4 × 4 SUV from our hotel at 5:30 am. Even though I am not an early morning person, I did not mind that because I was excited about the desert safari experience. As we reached the desert, the color of the sky had just started turning pink and gold. The timing was just perfect and we were taken on a one-hour camel ride first so that we could clearly view the sunrise in Dubai deserts. During the ride, it is impossible to take photographs. So, if you are planning a trip you must remember to take photos before and after the ride. The guide led us across the desert and by the time the ride came to an end, the sky had turned clear blue.

Bedouin-style campsite…

The camel ride ended at the Bedouin-style campsite where hot breakfast was waiting for us. First of all, we were served Arabian coffee and the menu included both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. An unlimited supply of soft drinks and mineral water were provided for free. You need to drink a lot of fluids when you are in the desert to keep yourself well hydrated.

Dune bashing…

Though we were all a little apprehensive in the beginning, dune bashing turned out to be our most favorite activity of the sunrise desert safari tour. The ride up and down the steep sand dunes on the 4WD Toyota Land Cruiser was no doubt bumpy, but it was amazingly thrilling. The 45-minute adventure got over in a jiffy and our faces literally hurt as we smile so much during the course of the ride.

Sand-boarding and ATV riding…

Sand-boarding is another thrilling activity that you should not miss when visiting Dubai. It is very similar to snowboarding. Some of the dunes are as high as 1,000 feet but the sport is very safe and people of all ages can enjoy the same. We just strapped our boots on to the smooth sand-board started sliding down the sand dunes even though our hearts were beating faster when we started. There is no better solo sport than sand-boarding for sure!

All-terrain vehicle (ATV) riding…

This is yet another adrenaline pumping activity that you get to experience as part of the sunrise desert safari tour. Fortunately, Desert Safari Tours offered several vehicle options and we chose a vehicle that could accommodate the four of us instead of Quad bikes. It is difficult to explain the feeling, you must actually experience it!

Lifestyle experience…

We got back to the campsite after the adventure rides to get to know a little bit as to how the Arabs lived in the deserts long back. The activities at the campsite included henna painting, Sisha smoking, and taking photographs holding a falcon and/or wearing the traditional dress of the Arabs.

The safari ends….

The safari ended with the lifestyle experience at the campsite and as we were driven back to the hotel in the 4 × 4 SUV, I told myself that I will cherish the memories of this tour for a very long time to come.
